As we get closer to International Women’s Day we continue to receive beautiful nominations from women,
about the women who have inspired them in their lives.
I am working for East Bali Poverty Project (EBPP) and my responsibility is to lead the health team to run all of our programmes including community playgroup in Ban Village.
The inspiring woman that I would like to nominate is Ni Wayan Armiani from Ban Village, Karangasem. When she graduated elementary school in 1999 there was no high school in the area and EBPP sponsored her high school studies in Singaraja, where she excelled till graduation in 2005. After graduating, she was determined to be the agent of change in her own village by joining EBPP. She was trained in setting up and leading playgroups and has
successfully run the playgroups at all 27 posts per month for 10 years. Having raised two children of her own, she brings her motherly education techniques, that have inspired local mothers to take on running the playgroups themselves in their own hamlets. Her dedication and passion in teaching, her spirit to always give her best and contribute to the community inspires a me and lot of mothers in the village to fight for children’s right for
